"Hunger Games' star Jennifer Lawrence and "Trainwreck' actress Amy Schumer kicked off their shoes and danced atop Billy Joel's piano at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, Aug. 27. Joel was performing his 1983 single, "Uptown Girl' to concertgoers.
The two actresses did a number with a few pals before climbing atop the black grand piano onstage in the middle of a concert. Lawrence and Schumer danced a simple choreographed routine, which included the can-can. When they got to the piano, the best buds danced the twist and show off other old school dance moves.
Schumer and Lawrence's unexpected cameo appearance at the concert alluded to a scene from "Trainwreck,' in which Schumer dances to "Uptown Girl' with a group of cheerleaders at Madison Square Garden. Schumer will be at the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival in Tinley Park on Saturday, Aug. 29.
In addition to their recent viral escapades, Schumer and Lawrence are co-writing a screenplay. The screenplay is currently untitled, but Lawrence shared that they are starring in the film as sisters. They are planning on enlisting the help of Schumer's sister too.
"We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now," said Lawrence to the New York Times. "Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It's been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages."
The two actresses first met in July 2015. Lawrence and Schumer were longtime fans of each other. Their budding friendship first made headlines as they went waterskiing in the Hamptons together.
"Once a year, I go away with all my girlfriends from high school," said Schumer on The Daily Show. "I was like, 'Oh, we're going on a boat tomorrow. You should come. It was kind of hypothetical. And she was like, 'I think I'm coming,'"
