It seems Lenovo has beaten the release of Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 by unveiling a device that looks exactly like the latter's laptop-tablet hybrid.
As reported by various sources, the Chinese's company's Ideapad MIIX 700 looks surprising similar like the Surface Pro 3 and its successor, Ars Technica reported.
Like Microsoft's premium laplet, Lenovo's latest product is also a hybrid device. Just like the Surface Pro 3, the back portion of the Ideapad MIIX 700's 12-inch display also features a kickstand that works on Yoga hinges. This feature lets users use the tablet in an upright position.
However, when The Verge was able to test out the device, the site noted that its kickstand is not as sturdy or stable as the one on Microsoft's Surface Pro 3.
But this isn't the only aspect that Lenovo copied from Microsoft. Being a hybrid device, the Ideapad MII 700 also comes with an attachable keyboard that converts the tablet into a laptop.
Like Microsoft's own creation, the Ideapad MIIX 700's keyboard can also be attached to the device's display panel using magnetic straps.
With the kickstand and keyboard in place, it could be a bit hard to differentiate the Ideapad MIIX 700 from the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 from afar.
Despite the similarities, Lenovo still went with a different set of internal specs for its device. It is powered by Intel's newest Skylake processor and users have the option to upgrade it to the Core m7 model.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3, on the other hand, comes with the Intel Haswell chip onboard and is available in i3, i5 and i7 variants.
As for the memory, the Ideapad MIIX 700 packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD internal storage. Although the Surface Pro 3 also has the same amount of RAM, it offers users a bigger storage space that can go up to 512GB.
Given the design features of the Ideapad MIIX 700, it seems Lenovo is trying to catch the attention of Surface Pro supporters before the launch of Microsoft's latest device.
According to Tech Radar, the Surface Pro 4 is expected to be unveiled sometime in October and might debut with a retail price starting at around $875. One version of the device will sport a 12-inch display while its larger counterpart will have a screen size of 14 inches.
It is also expected to feature a Skylake chip and might come in 128GB, 256GB and 500GB storage variants.
