When he was first introduced in the television series "Once Upon a Time," Captain Hook was a bad guy who will stop at nothing to seek revenge on Rumplestiltskin.
But after joining forces with Emma Swan and falling in love with her, Hook gave up his old ways and jumped ship - now fighting for good instead of evil. However, when season four of the show wrapped up, Emma made the complete sacrifice and became the Dark Swan.
People are certain that Emma's parents Snow and Charming will stop at nothing to bring her back to the good side, but what about Hook? Will he fight alongside Emma's parents, or will he be tempted back to evil?
Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis both sat down with Entertainment Weekly and discussed certain things that might develop in the next season.
"Emma becoming Dark Swan has been a great opportunity for us to explore who she is at her deepest levels and to see those traits exploded in a way. That's what the Darkness does to you. It takes who you are and twists it, and that's what we're going to see with Emma," said Horowitz.
The two cannot deny the allure the dark side has on Hook, and he will probably understand Emma's predicament more than any other person in the show, which would really help if he plans on convincing her to go back the way she were.
"Well, there certainly is a dark part to Hook that is engaged by the Darkness that is taking over Emma, and it is something that he certainly can relate to in a way that many others can't," explained Horowitz.
Kitsis added: "But I would say that right now his main focus is on saving the woman he loves. The one thing about Hook is he spent 300 years trying to kill Rumple, so he doesn't give up so easy, he doesn't change himself that easy."
As for Emma's parents Snow and Charming, they wouldn't be handling their daughter's change very well, and in fact, they would argue and fight with each other more because of it this season.
"For the very first time since season 1, we're going to really see them disagreeing about the best way to save their daughter. And it is absolutely like any parents with a child: when you don't know how to save the child, it causes a lot of stress at home," said Kitsis.
