Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is a huge fan of the British period drama "Downton Abbey," but it looks like the whole cast and crew of the series is equally in awe of her as well.
While she was still pregnant with her daughter Princess Charlotte, she visited the set of "Downton Abbey" and talked to some of its stars.
"We weren't sure what to expect really," Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith in the show told E! Online. "We all got quite shy and she was sort of leading the conversation.
"It was lovely," she further said about their conversation. "She's so normal. I know everyone says that but she really does try to make everyone feel at ease."
Carmichael admitted that they "all lost their minds" during Middleton's visit that they did not have a clue what to talk about, so they ended up discussing the food.
"We started talking to her about the catering-I'm sure things she found really boring but we all sort of lost it because we were panicked and star struck. It was one of those weird ones," she said.
Lesley Nicol, who plays Downton Abbey's resident cook Mrs. Patmore also discussed a well-loved food with the Duchess - chocolate.
As for Jim Carter, who plays the respected butler Mr. Carsons, he and the Duchess "talked about the show."
"She's a big fan of the show. I don't think she'd been on a film set before or a TV set so she was intrigued by how different it looked on the screen and in reality. She overstayed. She stayed long. She was having such a good time," he added.
Show creator Julian Fellowes considers Middleton's visit as a "seal of approval" for the series, which is ending now during its sixth season.
"The duchess is very charming and she follows the show so she was able to talk properly with all the cast and the crew," Fellowes gushed. "It was a great thrill and treat. We were very honored."
However, as honored and starstruck as the cast were of Middleton, that still did not make them spill any secrets concerning the show.
"Even she didn't get any spoilers!" Fellowes insisted.
Season 6 definitely has a lot of close-guarded secrets, especially now that the characters are scrambling to hold on to their jobs, the estate, and their old and familiar lives while at the same time dealing with the changing times.
