"Holy, holy, holy God! God, who fosters a holy life in us even through discipline. I give you thanks for providing this morning, that I may respond to your grace.
I also give thanks for revealing to me the impending punishment afflicted upon the detestable people through the symbolism of Ezekiel's beard (Ezekiel 5:1-17). I thank you for helping me realize that there is no exception to punishment for the sins of Israel, Judah, and the church community. I desire to become holy, even if it is through a punishment that is unavoidable. Father, at this time in which sin is so prevalent and the world is so corrupted, I earnestly pray that I would be able to live a holy life, under your protection.
Would you allow me the grace to be quick to confess my sins upon hearing God's warnings. I ask that the church community and I may become so full of the Holy Spirit that we may reflect God's heart and example as salt and light of this world, that we may be more than able to handle our work and give you glory. I pray in the name of Jesus, in whom there is abundant mercy and compassion. Amen."
