"The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco seemed to have the ideal marriage with tennis player husband Ryan Sweeting, but the two have broken fans' hearts when they decided to file for a divorce recently.
E! News has confirmed that the two have indeed obtained a divorce petition filed September 25 in L.A. Superior Court. Cuoco and Sweeting have only been married for 21 months before Cuoco cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.
The court documents also revealed that the two agreed to split up on September 3, while their prenuptial agreement was signed on November 20, 2013. No further details concerning their agreement or arrangement have been released.
"Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage," Cuoco's rep said on Friday. "They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter."
Following the announcement, Cuoco spent the weekend with family and close friends doing some of the things she loves best, such as horse riding.
The actress even added a horse named Zaza to her family, and she participated in the horse-jumping event at the Flintridge Autumn Classic in La Cañada Flintridge, California.
"Never felt so happy!!!" she wrote on her Instagram page. "Thank you #fieldstone , Michelle , @twgoldberg @zoeypacyna @peteyleo and all our friends and family that came and cheered us on last night. I've never felt more surrounded by love."
Then on Sunday, Cuoco kept herself busy and distracted by spending even more time with her best friends and their daughters at an event for the Bryan Brothers Foundation.
In contrast to her personal life, Cuoco's on-screen persona Penny just tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Leonard Hofstadter in Las Vegas. While weddings are supposed to be a joyous occasion, the two were anything but since they spent their wedding night fighting over the kiss Leonard had with someone from work.
They went home angry at each other and bolted into their own apartments, and when Leonard's roommate Sheldon Cooper tried to cheer Penny up, she only ended up upsetting him when she blamed him for his recent split with girlfriend Amy Farrah Fowler.
Sheldon is at a loss because of his split with Amy. When she asked for time to think, he gave her everything but time and space and she finally decided that it is right for them to part ways.
