Seungri (Seung-hyun Lee), a member of "Big Bang", one of Korea's most popular boy bands, was injured today at 3 am while driving his Porsche towards his home. Korea's Star News reported that Seungri's Porsche crashed into another vehicle while he was driving. While YG Entertainment, Big Bang's agency, told reporters while neither their singer nor the driver in the other car was seriously injured, police is investigating the exact cause of the accident.
According to police and the fire department, the celebrity had overtaken another car with his own vehicle and right after that crashed into the fence next to the world. Seungri's car was upturned but the driver was not severely injured. The two passengers in the car that the singer had overtaken were taken to a nearby hospital, but it is believed neither of their injuries was severe.
Fans and critics of "Big Bang" expressed suspicion and disappointment that Seungri might have been driving drunk, because before the accident, Seungri, along with the rest of his band and other singers from YG Entertainment were at a night club in Gangnam, celebrating the release of a new fashion brand. There was even a report that Seungri had not even dropped by a hospital because he was not hurt at all.
A YG Entertainment spokesperson told Star News and assured "Big Bang" fans that Seungri was not driving drunk and that he is scheduled to be taken to a hospital for checkup and possible treatment. The spokesman also expressed apology towards the fans for the accident. The police however will continue to express the accident because of the possibility that the singer may have been exceeding the speed limit at the time of the crash.
