The Hulk's sudden departure in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" made fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe very curious as to how Dr. Bruce Banner's alter-ego will be making his comeback.

For a while, reports were circulating that Mark Ruffalo would be reprising his role as the Hulk in the next Marvel film "Captain America: Civil War," which would star Chris Evans as the title character.

Ruffalo earlier said that he would be in it because Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) said so, but it looks like the Avengers stars were mistaken.

Now, reports have it that the Hulk would be making a smashing comeback in a different standalone film - "Thor: Ragnarok," which would star Chris Hemsworth as the title character.

During an interview with The New York Daily News, Ruffalo tried sharing some details about the film to avid Marvel fans.

"I don't really know that much about it, but I think it's going to be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner," he said.

Despite their good relationship, it is inevitable that both superheroes will bump heads at some point in the film. Ruffalo is guessing that the fight between the Norse god and the indestructible green monster will be epic.

"I think they'll probably fight," Ruffalo said. "There's no doubt, everyone wants us to fight at one point."

When Ruffalo was pressed for more details about "Ragnarok" and share what the theme of the movie is all about, the actor replied, ""I know that it's about (the Norse legends of) 'Ragnarok,' or the end times in the Marvel universe as it pertains to Thor - which seems to be quite the theme these days in movies."

There is no denying the impact the Avengers has made on Comic-Con, and Ruffalo said that it was actually quite a treat to go to one without people hounding him for autographs and pictures.

"It was invigorating to go and participate at Comic-Con, to have my kids have that experience where I could be with them and isn't about selfies or me dealing with fans. There's this kind of sweetness there that is nice, it's health," he said. "There are thousands of different characters that are part of this imaginary world and the Hulk is just one little tiny piece of it. It does put everything in perspective; you have to check your ego at the door."

"Thor: Ragnarok" is expected to hit cinemas on November 3, 2017.
