The official release of the upcoming "Street Fighter 5" is still a couple of months away but new leaks are already starting to give away major details about the game.
Specifically, these leaks point to the characters that will be joining the game's lineup through future DLCs.
As reported by Eurogamer, users of the Shoryuken online forum were able to uncover several audio files from the game through data mining. Some of these files, which are about only a second long, feature sound bites announcing the names of the characters of the game.
Of course, many of those names belong to the 15 characters that have already been confirmed for the game. These are Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, M. Bison, Cammy, Birdie, Ken, Necalli, Vega, R. Mika, Rashid, Karin, Zangief, Laura and Dhalsim.
But, the audio files seven additional names such as Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Bison, Juri, Urien and Fan or Fun.
Aside from the names of the characters, some audio files also revealed the sound bites that will be used for the upcoming Capcom Pro Tour Event. The titles of the files also giveaway the host countries for the upcoming series of events.
Some of the titles are "Milan Games Week - Italy," "Canada Cup Premiere - Canada," "DreamHack Winter - Sweden" and "Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals - Singapore."
Aside from these leaks, new rumors suggest that the legendary character Akuma might join the roster of the upcoming "Street Fighter 5." Speculations about the arrival of the character emerged after Yoshinori Ono, the executive producer of the game tweeted a photo of the "Street Fighter 5" cover art featuring Ryu.
To make the image stand, Ono propped it up using the legs of an Akuma statue. The picture then led fans of the series to assume to Akuma will join be featured in the upcoming game since after "Street Fighter 2" came out, he has become a staple character in the series just like Ryu or Ken.
Also, as Events Hub pointed out, including Akuma in the game will be a strong marketing move for Capcom. After all, even outside the "Street Fighter" games, Akuma is still one of the most popular characters in the series.
However, leaks about the possible character DLCs, Capcom Pro Tour details and the inclusion of Akuma have not yet been confirmed by developers of the upcoming game. This means that for now, these should only be considered as rumors.
"Street Fighter 5" is set to come out in North America on February 16, 2016 and will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows platforms.
