For "iZombie" season 1, Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley) was left pining over his former fiancee Liv Moore (Rose McIver) when she suddenly broke off their engagement after being turned into a zombie.

When Liv turned Major into a zombie during the season 1 finale in order to save his life, the tables turned and Major became upset with Liv. Liv tried desperately to rekindle her friendship with Major during the first few episodes of season 2, but to no avail.

Now, the tables have turned once again and Major has come to Liv for help, and told her that he wanted to rekindle their relationship. However, Liv still does not know that Major has been hired by Max Rager to kill zombies.

"It's a really complex dynamic that they have," McIver told Entertainment Weekly about Major and Liv's romance. "This time around, it certainly has a lot more promise because he knows who she is. There's not this enormous secret between them on her front. Unfortunately, he obviously is carrying a big secret this time around in terms of what he's privy to with Max Rager and what he's partaking in. There are still secrets, and I think relationships with big, hefty secrets like that aren't very simple."

Major and Liv also have to be very careful not to get too intimate; otherwise, Major risks getting turned into a zombie once again. Liv is extremely cautious because her boss and good friend Ravi (Rahul Kohli) still hasn't concocted the right cure for zombies.

"They have to do everything with a great degree of caution," said Buckley, who added that Major's zombie cure might not really stick.

"They're not sure how zombie-ism is transmitted as yet," McIver further said. "Ravi is having to really do some extensive research to make sure these things aren't going to be too much of a problem."

Another secret Major is carrying is the fact that he slept with Liv's roommate Gilda. Liv is still blissfully unaware of this fact, but McIver notes that her character will be extremely hurt when the truth is revealed.

"She hasn't found out just yet, so we don't know how that's going to pan out," McIver said. "That's a gun sitting on the table that we're waiting for to go off at some point. Obviously that's not going to be hidden forever, but it's not on the agenda right now, so Liv is able to enjoy being with Major and trying to reconnect with him in a new way."
