Two Duggar sisters, Jinger and Jana Duggar, played large roles on TLC's three-part special , "Jill & Jessa: Counting On.' While the title suggested that the spinoff project will put the spotlight on the married sisters, other members of the Duggar clan appeared in its three episodes.
The premiere episode, for instance, featured numerous members of the famous family to express their sentiments about the controversies surrounding Josh Duggar. Both Jinger and Jana were shown on camera while they sadly opened up about their brother's scandal relating to his unfaithfulness to his wife, Anna.
During the premiere episode of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On,' Jinger was given the chance to share the limelight with Jessa as they went on a shopping trip to find a chair for baby Spurgeon's nursery room. She also helped her sister out in choosing baby clothes for Jessa's unborn baby.
In the next episodes, Jinger opened up more about the recent troubles that rocked Josh and Anna's marriage, offering positive words about her sister-in-law.
"Anna is amazing," Jinger shared in the TLC special. "She displayed to each one of us to what it means to have unconditional love and she is walking through this better than anyone of us could have ever imagined."
In another "Jill & Jessa: Counting On' clip, sister Jana also made an appearance to share her sentiments about the baby food-making competition for Jessa's baby shower in which male attendees were able to participate. She teased at how the guys attempted to come up with baby food made out of pureed mixture of chips, coffee, baked beans and pickle juice.
"Most of the baby food that was made, I would not feed to a baby," Jana said. "I wouldn't even eat it myself."
Looking into these appearances on the TLC special, Jinger and Jana Duggar are reportedly candidates to become the next focus of the network when coming up with another Duggars spinoff. By placing emphasis on the unmarried Duggar sisters, TLC might be able to ascertain whether they are worthy of the next Duggar family special.
As pointed out by The Wrap, viewers of '19 Kids and Counting' were so caught up in Jill Duggar's engagement and marriage, resulting to impressive ratings for the family series.
As such, it is likely that certain audiences will look forward to Jana and Jinger finding their husbands, especially with the fact that both sisters do not have social media accounts through which they can update their followers. Both Duggar daughters are also staying at home and have not picked up jobs at present, making fans even more curious about their lives.
