Sony has just unveiled the list of games that will come out exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console this year.
Many of the games will only be available for the next-gen gaming system while the others will be released on a timed-exclusive deal.
As reported by Gamespot, PlayStation 4 owners can look forward to seeing 20 new titles for their consoles in 2016. Those that will only come out for the system are "Horizon: Zero Dawn," "Uncharted 4," "The Last Guardian," "Gran Turismo Sport," "Gravity Rush 2," "Ratchet and Clank," "The Tomorrow Children," "Drawn to Death" and "Dreams."
The 10 other titles, on the other hand, will be released with either a console or timed-exclusive deal. This means some of them will also come out for the PC platform while the others will eventually arrive to other systems such as the Xbox One once the exclusivity deal with Sony expires.
These games are "Street Fighter 5," "Firewatch," "What Remains of Edith Finch," "Shadow of the Beast," "Boundless," "Nier Automata,""Hellblade," "Paragon," "The Witness" and "No Man's Sky."
It is not yet clear if these will be the only games that will be launched for the PlayStation 4 next year. New titles might be added while other could be scrapped from the list due to various reasons such as development delays.
But, one title that's missing from the list is "Detroit: Become Human." According to Gamepur, this sci-fi game, which explores the concept of cyborgs with artificial intelligence, was unveiled in October last year during the Paris Games Week event.
Although development studio Quantic Dream has not yet announced an official release date for the game, many gamers are expecting its launch to happen sometime this year.
Since it's not on the list, this could mean that "Detroit: Become Human" might come out in 2017. But, if the developers are able to release it this year, then it will most likely be included in Sony's recently released list.
Another PlayStation 4-exclusive game that gamers can look out for is the new title that "Metal Gear Solid" creator Hideo Kojima is working on. Earlier last month, The Verge reported that following Kojima's departure from Konami, the game creator entered into a deal with Sony to develop a new title that will only be available for the company's next-gen console.
"I will be taking on a new challenge by establishing my own independent studio, and I am thrilled to be able to embark on this journey with PlayStation, who I have continued to work with all these past years," he said in a statement.
"I cannot wait to deliver, with PlayStation, a game that will become a compelling franchise," he added.
