The Duggars are set to return to TV with a couple of new specials on TLC. The former "19 Kids and Counting,' particularly sisters Jill Duggar-Dillard and Jessa Duggar-Seewald, will be the focus of at least two TV specials.
Jessa and husband Ben Seewald are looking forward to the birth of their first baby on Nov. 1, which also happens to be their first wedding anniversary.
The 22-year-old reality star recently wrote in the Duggar Family Blog to give an update on her pregnancy.
"Even when things in pregnancy seem difficult, I can't help but think of others who are dealing with so much more. This really puts things in perspective for me," she shared.
After Jessa announced the pregnancy news, sources close to the Christian clan claimed that the mother-to-be was looking forward to enjoying some spotlight on her own family.
Meanwhile, Jill and spouse Derick Dillard are always on the move as they are being kept busy by their mission work in El Salvador.
These new TV specials will shed more light on the recent changes in the siblings' lives, although older brother Josh Duggar will not make an appearance in their specials.
"We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone with the new specials on TLC"”many have asked about our mission work and about the challenges of taking our family to a different country, culture and learning a new language," Derick shared on Instagram. "We appreciate your prayers."
TLC's executive vice president and general manager Nancy Daniels opened up to the Associated Press about the focus of these new projects.
"What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child," she stated. "And we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in."
TLC cancelled the family's reality series "19 Kids and Counting' after Jim Bob and Michelle's eldest son Josh's molestation scandal graced the headlines; he also admitted that his victims included Jessa and Jill.
The Duggar sisters publicly voiced out their support for their older brother after the news broke; both had also been involved in a sex abuse special titled "Breaking the Silence' that aired on TLC following the cancellation of their family's reality show.
Three months after such controversy, Josh then confessed about being addicted to pornography and his unfaithfulness to his wife, including his subscription to adultery website Ashley Madison.
Subsequently, the father-of-four stated a public apology and checked into a treatment center.
