The Duggars have been busy decorating their home in time for the holidays and, to show that they have been getting festive, patriarch Jim Bob and his wife Michelle recently shared a photo of their granddaughter, Meredith, on their family's Facebook page.
"It looks like someone is trying to help put the final touches up for Christmas decorations!" the Duggars wrote.
Last year, the large clan decided to share a family video to their fans as they decked their huge house out for the holidays. In the clip, Meredith's father, Josh Duggar, gave viewers a glimpse of the family's home as he discusses with his mother, Michelle, as to why their decorations do not include a Christmas tree.
As pointed out by the former '19 Kids and Counting' star, the Duggars prefer to make it clear that they are celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ, thus the large "Happy Birthday Jesus" as a replacement for a tree.
Josh also revealed in the clip that the Duggar family receives presents from viewers all over the world during the holidays and his sister, Jana, is mainly responsible for sending out cards and presents from their family.
This year, however, will seemingly be different for the Duggars as several family members will not be coming home to celebrate Christmas. Josh, for instance, is expected to remain in Illinois after signing up for the Reformers Unanimous' "school of discipleship" when news of his unfaithfulness to his wife, Anna, broke out. The 27-year-old star admitted to cheating on his spouse and struggling with Internet pornography addiction.
His statements come months after his molestation scandal graced the headlines, prompting TLC to take the family's hit series '19 Kids and Counting' off air.
Josh's sister, Jill Duggar-Dillard, and her husband, Derick, are presently on a mission trip in Central America and revealed that they only plan of coming back to the US next summer. Nevertheless, as shared in the Duggar Family Blog, the Duggars are known for taking short-term Christmas mission trips overseas every year.
The clan often travels with S.O.S. Ministries, which currently has two Christmas mission trips on their schedule- Honduras with a Dec. 4 departure date and El Salvador with a Dec. 11 departure date.
If the Duggars do take a trip with S.O.S. Ministries once more this year, the Dillards could simply meet up with them when they arrive in Central America. It is also a possibility that the Duggars will travel to the region and help out Jill and Derick with their mission work instead of working with S.O.S.
