British singer and songwriter Adele has experienced fame and success at such a young age that many of her peers aspire to achieve throughout their entire careers. But after reaching great heights with her smash hit album "21" back in 2011, Adele disappeared from the music scene.

But just last Sunday, Adele came back when she sang new material during her stint in the U.K. version of "X-Factor."

"Hello, it's me," she sang. "I was wondering / if after all these years / you'd like to meet / To go over everything / They say that time's supposed to heal ya / But I ain't done much healing."

Now, the singer has finally confirmed on her Twitter account that she has a brand new album, and she apologized to her fans that it took so long for her to create it.

She wrote a heartfelt letter detailing her struggles growing up: "When I was 7, I wanted to be 8. When I was 8, I wanted to be 12. When I turned 12, I just wanted to be 18. Then after that I stopped wanting to be older. Now I'm ticking 16-24 boxes just to see if I can blag it! I feel like I've spent my whole life so far wishing it all away."

There were so many things Adele wished for in life - wishing she was older, taller, or somewhere else. She sometimes wished that she didn't ruin so many good things in her life just because she was scared and bored.

The culmination of all her feelings can be found in her new album, she said. "My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record. I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did," Adele explained.

"Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my 20s. Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully-fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I'm going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk," she added. "I miss everything about my past, the good and the bad, but only because it won't come back. When I was in it, I wanted out! So typical."

She then said that turning 25 was all about introspection, and she then apologized that her new album took as long as it did to materialize. "I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened," she reasoned.
