Aside from the 2015 Nike Basketball Easter Collection that is scheduled to come out on Thursday, sneakerheads are also looking forward to the release of two Air Jordan retro sneakers this weekend.
Nike's Jordan Brand will release remastered editions of previous Air Jordan 5 Retro and Air Jordan 1 Retro colorways, which have been making noise over the past several weeks.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro will come out in "Metallic Silver" edition, which is officially listed as the White/Metallic Silver-Black colorway. This edition is quite familiar even to casual Air Jordan fans as it became a hot item on the sneaker market when it was first released in 2000.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro "Metallic Silver" has a white-based upper part that sits on top of a white midsole and an icy blue translucent outsole. It also sports a metallic silver tongue and "23" logo on the side panel, while black Jumpman logos are present on tongue, back panel and insole.
This edition will be made available this Saturday, April 4, starting 10 a.m. ET. It will be sold for $190 for men's sizes, $140 for GS sizes, $80 for PS sizes and $45 for GP sizes. Jordan Brand will also release another popular retro - the Air Jordan 1 Retro Mid in White/True Red-Light Silver-Black colorway, which is popularly known as the "Hare" edition.
According to reports, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Mid "Hare" will come out as a teaser to the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 7 Retro "Hare" edition, which will hit shelves this year as part of the 23rd anniversary of the seventh Air Jordan shoe model.
Like the Air Jordan 5 Retro "Metallic Silver" shot, this edition is also familiar to sneakerheads because it was also a popular model when it first hit the market in April 2009.
"The Air Jordan 1 Retro Mid "Hare" features a white-based upper part with light silver panel combined with true red lining, tongue, Jordan Wings logo, stitches and outsole. It also has a "Hare Jordan" logo on the tongue and "Hare" wording on the back panel," the shoe as described by Latin Post.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro "Hare" will also be released on Saturday with retail price set at $125 per pair. Photos of this highly anticipated shoe are available on Sneaker Bar Detroit and Sneakernews websites.
