The missionaries will be in Russia for the entire 2 week duration of the Olympic Games.
The 40 members of the team combined forces with local Russian churches to begin inviting souls to know about Christ. The team will mostly be hosting diverse fun activities that will enable them to deliver the Gospel in a very accessible and enjoyable way. They initially began with going out into public areas such as parks to invite people to participate in these activities.
Greg Magione, a member of SOAR explained that the he and his team will be assisting local ministries spread the Gospel to their community through Gospel magic shows, face painting and many more fun activities that will draw many people's attention. However, Magione also addressed the team will be tying its best to not leave a negative impression of Christians to the people of Sochi.
Magione explained that the team will not be doing any kind of street preaching or proselytizing in public areas. Instead, the evangelists will be endeavoring to make personal and intimate relationships with the locals that would possibly open the door to sharing a personal testimony and eventually the love of Christ itself.
The Games commenced this Friday and already some countries are either disappointed or greatly excited by how their athletes are performing in their respective sports.
