The Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Google's Nexus 4 has already been rolled out.
However, for the Nexus 5, the recent update is causing some problems that are affecting the device's camera, NDTV reported.
The update was made available recently as an OTA downloadable file with a size of 174.5MB. Currently, only a number of Nexus 4 users have been notified regarding the update's availability but it is expected to arrive to other regions within the coming weeks.
According to users who already received the update, they were informed via system notification regarding the Android 5.1 Lollipop's availability. Through the device's Settings menu, they tapped the About Phone tab and downloaded the zipped OTA file through the System Updates.
As for the Nexus 5, on the other hand, the recent update is causing the smartphone's camera app to crash.
According to some users, after downloading the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, which was released last month, the camera app suddenly closes when used with third party apps such as Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat. This problem also occurs even with Android's default camera app, according to Phone Arena.
The issue can be solved temporarily by rebooting the device. However, after awhile, the same thing happens again.
A report regarding the problem was already submitted to Google but the tech giant has not yet released an official statement regarding a possible permanent fix.
Aside from the camera app issue, some Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 users complained that after loading Android Lollipop updates, their devices froze and got stuck on the Google logo screen.
Various sources noted this problem may have been caused by incompatibility issues between the hardware and the software.
According to some users, those who have already installed the latest Android Lollipop update to their devices can avoid this problem by not restarting or switching off their devices and should wait until the next version of the OS arrives.
