Although Apple's latest MacBook Air is still a full week away from its official public launch, a blog based in Vietnam has managed to get its hands on the upcoming laptop and even posted an unboxing video.
However, almost immediately after the video was released, it was pulled from YouTube and the clip is now listed as private, according to IT Wire.
Based on various reports, the unboxing video showed the unreleased 12-inch MacBook Air equipped with Retina Display. As compared to previous models, Apple has lessened the number of ports on the new MacBook Air. This means the product will be shipped to customers with fewer accessories.
Notably, the two remaining ports on the laptop are the headphone jack and a slot for the USB Type-C, BGR reported. The revelation about the USB port suggests owners won't be able to charge the laptop using the traditional smartphone power packs unless they have a USB Type-C adaptor.
Similar to what was mentioned previously about the leaked specs of the MacBook Air, the unboxing video also featured the laptop's slim design.
In order to make the device appear as narrow as possible, the new MacBook Air sports an edge-to-edge keyboard design, according to 9to5Mac. This means the buttons lining the sides of the keyboard sit closer to the edges of the laptop and the keys have been squeezed in more tightly. In addition to shrinking the spaces between the keys, their sizes were also reduced.
The laptop's trackpad, on the other hand, has the same width as earlier models. However, its height was increased and takes up a large portion of space below the keyboard.
Aside from these, the clicking function of the trackpad has been removed in order to make the 12-inch Macbook Air significantly thinner than its predecessor.
The Cupertino-based company's latest laptop will be available in Apple Stores on April 10, which is the same day the Apple Watch's demo debut.
