Despite having a variety of features and being one of the pioneers in the wearable device market, Apple's Apple Watch still has a few flaws.
So, before getting excited for the latest high-tech gadget from Apple, it would be better to know some of the possible cons of owning an Apple Watch, according to Fox News.
The first main issue with the Apple Watch is that it is not a standalone device. Unlike other products released by apple, such as the iPhones and iPads, the Apple Watch is not a combination of multiple devices.
The company's smartphones, for example, let users listen to music, surf the net and communicate with their contacts. Similarly, the iPads are designed as the sleeker and lighter version of laptops.
Although the Apple Watch has messaging and calling features, users can only utilize these if they have an iPhone.
In connection to this issue, Apple's upcoming wearable device alienates non-iPhone users. For instance, those who own Android devices won't be able to enjoy the features of the smartwatch unless they purchase another smartphone from Apple.
Lastly, Apple said the smartwatch has a battery life that can last up to 18 hours. According to the company, this duration is based on 45 minutes of app usage, half an hour of using the music playback feature through Bluetooth, and 180 minutes of checking the time and notifications.
Although this seems like an ideal battery life for a device, keep in mind that this is based on preproduction tests. As admitted by Apple, the actual battery life of the Apple Watch will vary depending on the habits of users.
This means the device's battery life could actually be shorter than what was first mentioned by the company. Because of this, people who will use the features of the Apple Watch more than others may end up charging the device at least once a day.
