Although the release date for the standalone film of the Black Panther has been moved from November 2017 to July 2018, it appears that the fans and followers of this superhero flick might be in for an awesome treat as another highly sought after actor is rumored to soon officially sign up for the project.
According to Latino Review, Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson has been seen picking up copies of Black Panther comic books as well as regularly "hitting the gym" what appears to be an effort to bulk up his build. With these seemingly questionable activities in mind, learning that the actor has been choosing the comic stories that specifically include King T'Chaka definitely drove the rumor mill into overdrive.
King T'Chaka is the father of T'Challa, who later becomes the Marvel hero Black Panther. His role in the entire story offers a major plot as his protectiveness and safekeeping of his son later on bore fruit as the latter turned out to be a remarkable superhero. King T'Chaka is also known as the courageous chieftain of Wakanda.
To protect his kingdom from attacks, he hid the entire place following the influx of the widely coveted vibranium in the area courtesy of a meteorite crash. For those who may have forgotten the relevance of the vibranium, it might be helpful to know that this is the same material that was used to create the shield of Steve Rogers, otherwise known as Captain America. Hence, this is highly desirable by both do-gooders and evil characters.
As if placing an entire kingdom into hiding was not enough for King T'Chaka to contend with, he also has to deal with becoming a single parent to his son as his first wife died while giving birth to T'Challa and his second wife was imprisoned soon afterwards. Juggling his leadership duties, fatherhood tasks, and other responsibilities definitely made him a remarkable character in comic books.
Unfortunately, King T'Chaka was later on killed by Ulysses Klaw as a result of the latter's desire to get his hands on the vibranium. His death was subsequently avenged by his son, T'Challa, who even used the evil physicist's own munitions to sever his hand.
T'Challa or Black Panther will be played by Chadwick Boseman, while Klaw will be portrayed by Andy Serkis.
