Floyd Mayweather Jr. successfully kept his unblemished record after scoring a unanimous decision win over Andre Berto on Saturday at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
However, his critics was not too impressed as they took a swipe at Mayweather on social media, including boxing greats Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao.
Following the victory, Mayweather, who improved his record to 49-0 announced that he will officially retire. Reacting to Mayweather's announcement, De La Hoya took to Twitter to hit the reigning pound-for-pound king.
"I'm going to miss Floyd's action packed fights with prime fighters," De La Hoya write.
De La Hoya's remark was a sarcastic one because he has always criticized Mayweather for his unexciting bouts against handpicked fighters. Most fans are also criticizing Mayweather for dodging the best possible opponent.
De La Hoya also added that he did not bother to watch the Mayweather-Berto fight, and also added that he is excited about the new era of boxing now that Mayweather has retired, mentioning the names of Miguel Cotto, Saul Alvarez, David Lemieux and Gennady Golovkin.
"I'm sure glad I decided for Disney movies with my kids tonight," De La Hoya added. "Now that the worst boxing era is over let's look forward to the next 10 years with Canelo, Cotto, Lemieux, Golovkin."
De La Hoya took a split decision defeat to Mayweather during their huge fight in May 2007, but the Hall of Fame boxer has claimed over the past several years that he should have won the bout.
On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao also blasted Mayweather. The Filipino boxing icon posted a video on Instagram, showing him playing piano on his mobile phone. He did not directly mention Mayweather, but the caption is obviously directed to the Mayweather fight because he posted the photo late into the bout.
What I do when I'm bored. Hehe

Pacquiao, who is considered as the biggest rival of Mayweather in their boxing generation, took a unanimous decision loss to the Grand Rapids native in May. However, Pacquiao claimed that he was not 100 percent during the bout because he sustained a serious shoulder injury, which eventually required surgery.
Recent reports also revealed that Mayweather took a banned substance before the fight, which raised questions on whether or not Pacquiao was given a fair shake because he wanted to take pain killers before the bout but was not allowed by event organizers.
