World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Timothy Bradley believes he has the tools to defeat Floyd Mayweather if the unbeaten champion decides to fight one more time despite announcing his retirement.
Mayweather, who holds a perfect 49-0 record with 26 knockout victories, announced that he will not fight again following his unanimous decision win over Andre Berto on Sept. 12.
However, most analysts and fellow boxers believe that Mayweather will eventually decide to comeback for the chance to finish his career with a 50-0 record.
Bradley is among the boxers who believe Mayweather is not done yet. He expects Mayweather to take a long rest and eventually decide to fight one more time.
"I don't know how he's going to be," Bradley told the Desert Sun. "I think he might retire for a little bit and then I think he might come back for a big fight."
And if he eventually gets a chance to face Mayweather, Bradley is confident that he can give "Money" the toughest test of his career and eventually hand him his first defeat.
The 32-year-old champion is aware that Mayweather is hard to hit because of his impressive wall-like defense. But he claimed that he has the speed to get Mayweather into trouble and he is also not afraid to go toe-to-toe against the Grand Rapids native.
"You've got to maul him," Bradley said. "See me, I take risks. I know what I gotta do, but I know I can mix it up with that guy. I know I can hit him a lot more than a lot of people."
But in order to be considered for Mayweather's next fight, Bradley has to win against Brandon Rios in their upcoming showdown on Nov. 11 at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bradley, who holds a 32-1-1 record with 12 knockout victories, is confident that he will win against Rios, especially after hiring new trainer Teddy Atlas, who replaced his long-time trainer Joel Diaz. Bradley said that Atlas has already lined up things they need to fix before the fight against Rios.
"Teddy told me that there's mortal sins and there's small sins," Bradley said of Atlas. "I've been committing mortal sins. I've been doing things I shouldn't be doing that's why I've been taking as much punishment as I have been. That's why my eyes been swollen up in my previous couple of fights and getting hit with big shots over the top."
