The highly anticipated wedding between Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, and U.S. Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer has received much fanfare months prior to the wedding date, May 23. Hence, the abrupt cancellation of the celebration left many fans and followers of the family in the dark especially since no concrete explanation has been provided. While Bristol remains mum on the real reason behind the decision to call of the wedding, she addresses her loyal followers in a recent post in Patheos.com, titled "The Wedding That Didn't Happen."
"I feel like I need to address the elephant-in-the-room on this blog, since you guys have been with me through thick and thin. When I first got engaged, you were the first ones I wanted to tell," she began in her entry.
She continued to write, "I guess you have seen by now that the wedding - that was supposed to happen last weekend - was called off. I'm sure you've seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers."
"I know God's plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated," Bristol added. She then went to thank everyone for the love and support they extended to their family at this time of need.
