With a highly-anticipated superhero conflict taking place in "Captain America: Civil War,' it comes as no surprise that characters are set to lose their lives. However, another major character will reportedly meet an unfortunate end, and if such reports are true, this could bring on a major effect on one of the movie's primary characters.
As reported by Heroic Hollywood, Black Panther's father, T'Chaka, will be killed off in "Captain America: Civil War,' although the site did not divulge any detail as to how this could occur.
Portrayed by Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther, also known as T'challa, will be put forward as one of the movie's main characters, taking on the role of a third party associated with neither Iron Man nor Captain America.
With T'Challa taking the Black Panther mantle from his father, he will be dealing with the events that took place during "Avengers: Age of Ultron,' particularly with a considerable supply of his country's valuable natural resource, Vibranium, being stolen.
Although T'Chaka has not been officially confirmed as a character in "Captain America 3,' it has been speculated that an actor has already signed on to the Marvel movie in secret and filmed a number of scenes. Looking into the source material, T'Chaka was the Chieftain of Wakanda, making him serve as the Black Panther.
Obtaining magic-related knowledge at a young age, he sought to retain the "old ways," in spite of the country's technological developments. As Wakanda has not established any formal relationships with other countries, T'Chaka was sooner or later called before the U.N. to hear his decision about trading deals.
However, he was slain by Ulysses Klaw, which left T'Chaka's brother, S'yan, to occupy his rank until T'Challa came into adulthood.
While fans of the comics are already aware of T'Chaka's death, what remains a question is how this will be depicted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ulysses Klaue made his first onscreen appearance for MCU in "Avengers: Age of Ultron,' and despite his arm being cut off by Ultron, it can be expected that viewers will get to see the villainous character again.
In some way, T'Chaka's death will also bring on a strong impact on Black Panther's solo movie in 2018, either affecting him directly or just bringing on a great deal of sadness for T'Challa.
"Captain America: Civil War' is set for an official release on May 6, 2016.
