'Castle' Season 7 Episode 17 Spoilers: Beckett Coming Face-To-Face With Her Match?

ABC's "Castle" stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle and Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett |

The next episode of Castle Season 7 will feature some serious competition for Stana Katic's character, Kate Beckett. This will provide fans and followers of the show some breathing room following the intense and action-packed episodes that haunted them earlier, which featured two chilling serial killers, according to Cartermatt.com.

In the recently released teaser trailer for the show, Beckett is seen sharing her concern and possible jealousy to her novelist turned detective husband, Richard Castle, portrayed by Nathan Fillion, over a new person joining the New York City Police Department.

Although Beckett is described as someone who has it all - "the husband, the job, the hair" - the lead female star of the widely watched small-screen series listed the positive and supposedly superior characteristics of the new team member.

The trailer, which featured Beckett's rant interspersed with random shots of the newcomer, revealed that the former's perceived competition is also a female agent who appears to be "just like" Castle's wife herself. However, the NYPD detective claims that the other lady is "better" than her as the latter currently enjoys an "incredible career" and has a "movie star husband."

Apart from these, Beckett described the newcomer as "gorgeous." Although seemingly absorbed in the comparison she is making between her and the new agent, Beckett comes to a sudden halt in her rant the moment Castle himself agreed to everything she said. This could possibly indicate that her husband might actually perceive her as an inferior character with the new woman in the show.

Based on the title and the random shots of the newcomer in the teaser, it could be assumed that she came from Hong Kong. She is also shown as someone who is not afraid of and can definitely handle physical confrontation with any person regardless of their size and gender. Needless to say, this episode will surely bring out the competitive side of Beckett.

However, bad news follows this exciting announcement as the upcoming episode will be aired on March 16, 2015. Understandably, fans will be outraged by the three weeks of zero Castle episodes but Cartermatt provides a convincing explanation for the wait.

According to the said report, Castle will need to make way for the finale of The Bachelor. As seen in the previous seasons, The Bachelor: The Women Tell All typically takes three hours to finish. Meanwhile, the premiere night of Dancing With The Stars Season 20 will also be allotted a huge time slot.
