The relationship of Cleveland Cavaliers teammates LeBron James and Kevin Love has been the talk of the town over the past several weeks, but Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade is surprised with the way media personalities are making it a big deal.
Talks about James and Love's relationship intensified when the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player posted a photo of him with several teammates, but not without the All-Star power forward.
Love, who was acquired by the Cavaliers in a trade that sent Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett to the Minnesota Timberwolves along with a first-round pick, recently made comments on the said photo.
"It's fine. It's, it's, you know, we're not best friends, we're not hanging out every day, but we see each other every day, whether at the practice facility, whether on the road or going to a game," Love said. "I think our relationship is also evolving. I can say the same with each and every coach, coach Blatt, and each and every player on the team."
Reacting on the news, Wade said that talks about it are nonsense, but he knows James is used to it, having been on the spotlight over the past several years.
"I guess there's nothing else to talk about," Wade told Palm Beach Post. "But LeBron is used to it. He's had the spotlight on him for a long time, so everything he's involved with is gonna be a topic. He understands that."
James also told Northeast Ohio Media Group that even Kyrie Irving is not one of his best friends in the league. The 30-year-old superstar said that he has only three best friends in the league - Wade, Carmelo Anthony of New York Knicks and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Wade, who played four seasons and won two championship with James in Miami, believes his former teammate made such clarification in order to stop all the talks about his relationship with Love.
"His comment recently was just to shut it down," Wade added. "People can't expect you to be best friends with all your teammates. You know how many teammates we've had over our career? People don't have that many best friends. You're teammates with some guys, cordial with other guys, friendly with some guys."
