A new photo of 20th Century Fox's "Deadpool' star Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth was recently unveiled by Entertainment Weekly.
Drawn out from the story of Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, "Deadpool' sheds light on the experiences of former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson, who eventually became a mercenary.
After undergoing a rogue experiment that brings him accelerated healing powers, he soon adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Combining his new abilities with his sinister sense of humor, Deadpool goes on a hunt for the man who almost destroyed his life.
Last month, Reynolds took to social media and confirmed on Twitter that the cast and crew of "Deadpool' are done filming the highly-anticipated movie.
With the 38-year-old actor starring as the title character, other cast members include TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.
The upcoming movie is also expected to feature the mutant Colossus, although Daniel Cudmore has already announced that he will not be playing the character.
Reynolds has also been hoping that Hugh Jackman might have a cameo role as Wolverine, although there have been no announcements yet as to whether the Australian actor has signed on for such cameo in the movie.
"Zombieland' scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penned the script while Tim Miller took on directorial duties.
Confirmed to be a rated-R film, "Deadpool' will make its way to cinemas on Feb. 12, 2016.
Earlier this year, Reynolds welcomed special young guests into the set and offered exciting gifts for them.
With the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, cancer patient Tony Acevedo was able to wear the Deadpool costume and become the Merc with a Mouth for a day.'
Cancer can be associated with Reynolds' character, who also struggled with the illness before attaining extraordinary healing powers.
Days earlier, Blake Lively's husband also offered Deadpool's katana sword to a young girl named Calista King who went through surgery for malignant brain tumors.
Aside from "Deadpool', Reynolds has also been set to take on the role of Young Damian in the sci-fi movie "Self/less' directed by Tarsem Singh, which will hit theaters on July 10. He will star alongside Ben Kingsley ("Iron Man 3'), Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey') and Matthew Goode ("The Imitation Game').
