Director Jon Favreau recently unveiled the first official trailer for Disney's "The Jungle Book' and introduced stars Lupita Nyong'o, Ben Kingsley and newcome Neel Sethi at the D23 Fan Expo in Anaheim.
Sethi takes on the role of the movie's young hero Mowgli, Kingsley portrays Bagheera the Panther and Nyong'o plays Raksha the Wolf.
Favreau also brought out the film's impressive visual spectacle, sharing that "The best CGI is the CGI that disappears."
The director also unveiled the movie's first poster and stated that they will be giving out copies to the audience after the presentation.
Following Favreau's joke that he did not have any video prepared for the crowd, Sean Bailey asked him to "look within his heart" to give fans a first look at the anticipated flick. The director then presented a trailer which opened with the Scarlett Johansson's Kaa the Python speaking about the Red Flower, known for bringing "warmth, light and destruction."
Mowgli is found by Bagheeram, who promises the boy's safety, saying: "The jungle is no longer safe. I'll return him to where he belongs."
Idris Elba's tiger Shere Khan was also shown in the footage as he stalks Mowgli in the jungle. In a breathtaking sequence, the boy jumps off a cliff and is discovered by Bill Murray's Baloo the Bear.
Baloo then tells Mowgli to "relax", assuring him that "there's no need to get worked up." He also sings the well-loved song "Bare Necessities,' a track that places emphasis on "the good life," although Mowgli admits that he is not aware of what a song is.
"Everyone's got a song," Baloo tells him.
As the footage nears its end, the audience also saw Shere Khan telling Mowgli that "if you come back, I'll be waiting." The trailer then ends with the orangutan King Louie, voiced by Christopher Walken, saying "I am the king!," making the crowd erupt with cheerful yells.
The video clearly impressed the audience as it earned a standing ovation before Bailey called on Mia Wasikowska for the "Alice Through the Looking Glass' presentation.
Sethi seemed overwhelmed for his first ever major public appearance, but pleased the crowd with his positive energy and enthusiasm.
Nyong'o also took her first trip to Disney, which had been one of her mother's dreams for her family. Although the award-winning actress was not able to directly work with Sethi, she opened up about his performance and described it as rather touching.
'The Jungle Book' makes its way to theaters on Apr. 15, 2016.
