Fans and followers of the widely popular blockbuster film of Disney, "Tangled," will be ecstatic to find out that the production for the small screen adaptation has already started, according to E News. Apart from being able to watch just how the lives of their favorite characters will turn out following their epic journey in 2010, when the first movie came out, another exciting news awaits the viewers: Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will be reprising their roles in this upcoming project.

Moore, who plays the lead female role, named "Rapunzel," and Levi, who portrays Eugene (or Flynn Rider), both agreed to return and lend their voices to the widely loved characters. In addition, the same musical geniuses behind the hit singles released during the first film are back to work on the TV version of "Tangled." Alan Menken will be back as the composer, while the lyrics will be created by none other than Glenn Slater.

"The genius of the original movie was its seamless blending of cinematic adventure, character-driven comedy and touching emotion," shared Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, according to Deadline.

He went on to say, "And we are fortunate to have several of the creative talent from that movie on board with this new production." The executive then added, "With the addition of Chris and Shane as Executive Producers, we have the perfect team in place to create a series worthy of the original film."

The same sentiments were echoed in the blog post of Disney regarding the upcoming project, titled "What Makes the Tangled Animated Series So Special." The company wrote, "This ("Tangled" TV series) is a very awesome surprise, even to us: in 2017 a new animated series based on Disney's phenomenally popular animated film Tangled will debut on the Disney Channel in 2017." They then urged fans to "Get your frying pans and flying lanterns and smart aleck-y chameleons ready."

"What makes the Tangled series so special is the amount of talent that they've retained from the original feature film," the site explained. After stating who among the original members of the 2010 "Tangled" team are coming back for the project, the post added, "They're really getting the band back together. This is roughly the equivalent of snagging Robin Williams for the Aladdin television series."

The TV series for "Tangled" is set to premiere in 2017.
