In a recently unveiled preview for the upcoming TLC special "Jill and Jessa: Counting On,' viewers can catch a glimpse of Anna Duggar speaking out for the first time since her husband's controversies came out.
"It was heartbreaking to hear what had happened," Anna said, recalling the time when she learned about Josh Duggar's unfaithfulness, before staring dejectedly off-camera.
Josh's sister, Jill Duggar, also shared that Anna had been the person she was most worried about when her brother's Ashley Madison adultery scandal was publicized earlier this year.
"My first thoughts were for Anna," the 24-year-old reality star said in their new program's preview, referring to Josh's wife of seven years with whom he has four children, while adding: "We will come out of this fire."
Jill is currently on a long-term missionary trip with husband, Derick Dillard, and seven-month-old son, Israel, in South America. She has dropped hints about the Duggar family having difficulties accepting Josh's scandal in the past months through her blog.
In September, Jill shared a post about the "difficult days" that she and her family had been going through.
"Hey everyone! August has been a busy month for us," she wrote. "And as so many of you know, it has ended on a sad note for my extended family. Please do pray for our family. We are so thankful for God's grace during difficult days."
In a previously unveiled clip from their three-part TLC special, Jill and Jessa admitted that it had been a huge shock for the family to learn that, aside from the molestation charges, Josh had also been involved in adulterous acts against his wife.
"Here I am, most joyful time in my life "” newlywed, baby on the way, and then"¦" Jessa recalled. "We were devastated. Like, we couldn't believe it. You have to wonder, like, "How did this happen?'"
The 23-year-old reality star welcomed her own first child on Nov. 5, a few days after her supposed due date on Nov. 1, which was her first wedding anniversary with husband, Ben Seewald.
Josh and Anna welcomed their youngest daughter, Meredith Grace, in July. The baby joined three older siblings in the family, including 2-year-old Marcus, 4-year-old Michael and 5-year-old Mackynzie.
"It's definitely busier the more [kids] you have," Anna told People Magazine last year. "But it is a happy busy. There is no better way to invest my life, my body, and my time than to my children. They are a huge responsibility and a blessing. And all good things in life require work."
Jill and Jessa are set to share more of their experiences with marriage, parenthood and family as their three-part special, 'Jill & Jessa: Counting On,' will premiere on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
