Taking on the lead roles in their new TLC show, Jill Duggar-Dillard and Jessa Duggar-Seewald are to offer revelations about their experiences in marriage, motherhood, mission work as well as their family's reactions to the controversies surrounding their brother, Josh Duggar.
After returning to TLC with the premiere episode of their spinoff series, the sisters will be back for a new, one-hour installment on Sunday, Dec. 20.
The second episode, titled "Baby Shower & A New Home,' will carry on in following the experiences of the siblings as they go through with their lives as mothers. Ben Seewald, Jessa's husband, will be featured as he plans a baby food competition that will go with the co-ed baby shower, as stated by TV Guide's synopsis. While filming their new series, Jessa had still been pregnant with her first baby, who arrived on Nov. 5 and was named Spurgeon Elliott.
The Duggar family also revealed the upsetting events that took place during and after Jessa's home birth experience as she was delivering Spurgeon. Despite her baby boy's safe arrival at home, Jessa was bleeding heavily that an ambulance was called to the Duggar family home.
"Mother is bleeding after birth," family matriarch Michelle said as she described her daughter's emergency.
As for Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, they will be shown as they say goodbye for their extended mission trip in Central America. The trained midwife has been posting updates on social media sites, including Instagram, which show the progress of her little tot, Israel. The 24-year-old reality star also penned a letter to Jessa after the latter welcomed her own little bundle of joy.
"Derick, Israel and I are so excited for you and Benji!" Jill wrote, while adding, "I can't believe you have a little one now! It was such a joy to get to be a part of the birth from Central America, thank you. You were a champ!"
While the two sisters continue with new experiences, Duggar fans will also have a glimpse of Anna Duggar as she sits down for an interview to speak out about her husband, Josh Duggar. The mother-of-four is expected to share her thoughts and feelings about the molestation and adulterous controversies that surround her husband.
After reports surfaced revealing that Josh had molested several underage girls, including sisters Jill and Jessa, during his teenage years, the former '19 Kids and Counting' star was then linked to the adultery website, Ashley Madison, and subsequently admitted to acts of unfaithfulness and addiction to online pornography.
Other Duggar siblings are also expected to be featured in the three-part special, including brothers Joseph and John-David, who both admitted that it had been especially difficult to deal with the news of their older brother's controversies.
"I don't think there's any way any of us would have known that my brother was living such a secret life," Joseph Duggar shared. "Whenever somebody you respect the most is willing to get up and proclaim what we believe as Christians, about being true to your wife, you'd never expect that person to be the one who's involved in it, and it broke my heart."
The second episode of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On' will premiere on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 8pm. According to TV Guide, the episode will also be aired twice on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. and 11:04 p.m. EST.
