Movie Reviews:
"Timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of America's involvement in the Vietnam conflict, the dramedy flip-flops between the decidedly sitcom-y present and stilted battlefield settings that feature a less-than-commanding Stephen Baldwin as a solemn U.S. sergeant," wrote Michael Rechtshaffen from The Los Angeles Times.
"Downes deserves a lot of credit for turning in such a strong performance despite the holey (along with holy) script. His acting is real and warm and shows the kind of complexity that makes characters come to life," wrote Rick Bentley from The Fresno Bee.
"The movie's strength is the interaction between Downes and White, including their humorous antics and frequent disagreements. St. James does a nice job, and Robertson, as expected, is funny. The film is a solid tribute to veterans. It also showcases the role of faith on the battlefield," wrote Michael Foust from Christian Examiner.
"In between fights and getting arrested, together, they set out in an unforgettable journey to The Wall - the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., where they might find the answers to what they have been searching for their whole life," wrote Jilianne Arbonida from Christian Today.
"Faith of Our Fathers" is a loving tribute to the servicemen and women and their families who have made the ultimate sacrifice. This movie features themes of sacrifice and loyalty, and deals with the grief of two grown men who both lost their fathers during the Vietnam War," wrote Edwin L. Carpenter from The Dove Foundation.
"John Paul talks of God's healing grace, paraphrasing John 1:9, "If you confess your sin, Jesus is faithful to cleanse you of all your sin." The recipient of those words, Wayne finally breaks down and confesses all the painful emotions he's kept bottled up through the years," wrote Bob Hoose from PluggedIn.
