After Dwayne Johnson took care of business and locked him up in a maximum security cell at the end of "Furious 7,' it seems that no top-security prison can contain the wrath of Jason Statham's villainous character Deckard Shaw.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the 47-year-old actor shares that he will return for another round with Vin Diesel's squad in "Furious 8.'
"We're already talking about doing another one, Part 8," he said. "I'm a newcomer! I just got invited to the party in this last one so it's nice to know I'm gonna be doing another"¦"
Statham strongly believes in the power of the "Fast and Furious' franchise, saying that "they've always got something good up their sleeve." He also prefers to keep mum about details that he might have been told already.
"I don't want to be the one who spoils the plot lines but there is some great stuff I already know about," the 'Transporter' star said.
After raking in more than $1.5 billion worldwide, "Furious 7' will only have to pull in a few more to triumph over "The Avengers' and take on the title for the third-highest-grossing movie in history.
"The fanbase is really unique," Statham shared. "They really do relate to these characters, they love these characters, they've followed them for years and years."
These fans said a teary goodbye to Paul Walker with the release of "Furious 7' after the actor's unexpected death due to a vehicular accident in 2013 at the age of 40.
The "Varsity Blues' actor had already filmed multiple scenes for the seventh installment when he died in a car crash in California, which then prompted his siblings Cody and Caleb to join the cast and finish up their brother's work on the movie.
Franchise star Vin Diesel acknowledged his late friend at the unveiling of the Universal Studios Hollywood's new Fast & Furious Supercharged theme park ride last June 23 and dedicated the thrilling experience to Walker.
The "Riddick' star who named his daughter Pauline after his late pal and co-star, yelled "This one's for you, Pablo," when the "Furious 7' cast members cut the ribbon for the new ride.
Diesel made the official announcement that "Furious 8' is in the works at this year's CinemaCon following the considerable success of the seventh film.
Aside from Diesel, Statham and Johnson, Kurt Russell is also expected to make a comeback together with regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black, majority of whom are reprising their roles as street racers who have become secret agents despite turning into international criminals.
