While the latest "Fast & Furious' film continues to break records at the international box office, fans are now looking forward to a new installment- the eighth movie in the street racing action franchise.
As plans are being laid out for "Furious 8,' franchise star Vin Diesel has expressed his agreement with one of Hollywood's widely recognized actresses to join the cast for the upcoming movie.
Helen Mirren has already made it known that she would prefer to be chosen for a role in a "Fast & Furious' film, specifically a villainous character, and calls it a "great ambition."
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Diesel revealed that he has the same opinion as Mirren and agrees that she should be cast in the next film.
"Of course I would! Who wouldn't? It's Helen," the 47-year-old actor said.
If the award-winning actress could be given the opportunity to star in the upcoming "Fast & Furious' film, she might as well join Jason Statham who is up for another round with Diesel and his squad despite his character Deckerd Shaw being locked up by Dwayne Johnson in a top-security prison.
The English actor recently confirmed that he has signed on for "Furious 8.'
"We're already talking about doing another one, Part 8," he said. "I'm a newcomer! I just got invited to the party in this last one so it's nice to know I'm gonna be doing another"¦"
The 'Transporter' star strongly expressed his belief in the power of the "Fast & Furious' franchise, stating "they've always got something good up their sleeve." He also likes to share as few details as he could about the upcoming movie.
"I don't want to be the one who spoils the plot lines but there is some great stuff I already know about," Statham said.
After pulling in more than $1.5 billion in the global box office, "Furious 7' will only have to come up with a few more millions to gain victory over "The Avengers' and take on the title for the third-highest-grossing movie in history.
"The fanbase is really unique," Statham added. "They really do relate to these characters, they love these characters, they've followed them for years and years."
Such fans have already bid Paul Walker a teary goodbye with the release of "Furious 7' following the actor's sudden death due to a car crash in 2013 at the age of 40.
The "Vehicle 19' star had already began filming multiple scenes for the seventh movie when he died in a vehicular accident in California, which then prompted his siblings Cody and Caleb to join the cast and finish up their brother's work on the highly anticipated sequel.
Aside from Diesel, Statham and Johnson returning, Kurt Russell is also expected to make a comeback together with regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black in "Furious 8.'
