Ezra Miller returns to the big-screen scene as he signs on as The Flash in DC Comics Cinematic Universe, saying that he has no problem playing the superhero despite having its own TV series starring actor Grant Gustin.
"I'm not avoiding it at all. I think it's awesome," Miller said in an interview with MTV News when asked about his thoughts about the CW series.
"And come on, we're The Flash. It's parallel universes," the 22-year-old actor added. "Grant Gustin is The Flash and I'm The Flash. Don't you see? It's the event horizon. We've crossed it, baby! Grant and I are chilling."
The "Perks of Being a Wallflower' star also opened up about the reasons his upcoming solo film as the speedy superhero is a thrilling project.
"Barry Allen is the Silver Age, who follows a lot of interesting discoveries in physics," he said. "Where he comes from is, we figured out the event horizon was there, and then he was the character who was created through our mythos machine of comic books to break that event horizon so we could explore in fantasy, and I think that's an interesting idea."
According to Phil Lord, who had been working on a treatment for the film, the new "Flash' movie will be deemed as a standalone project.
"It really is its own thing," the director said. "We're just trying to think of the best story. I think you guys will like it, it's kind of a different take on superhero stuff."
Miller is set to make his first appearance as The Flash in "Justice League: Part 1,' which is scheduled for a release on Nov. 23, 2017, before starring in his own movie that will make its way to cinemas on Mar. 23, 2018.
However, there have been speculations that the Scarlet Speedster will first appear in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' which hits theaters on Mar. 25, 2016.
According to entertainment news site Cinema Blend, the title of the upcoming DC film, which stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, suggests that fans may be seeing other Justice League members in it.
While it is already known that Wonder Woman and Aquaman will be making special appearances in the film, rumors are also claiming that Miller signed on for a cameo role as the Flash.
