Fans and followers of the phenomenal blockbuster animated film, Frozen, should prepare for disappointment as the rumors of an upcoming sequel for the much loved Disney movie were all confirmed to be false by the directors themselves during an interview with Buzzfeed.

Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the creators of the hit film, shared that they were actually quite confused with the news of a sequel in the works. "It's been in the press that we are doing it, and we would ask each other, 'Are we?'" revealed Buck during the conversation. "They'd have a date and they'd have a cast and it was like, OK," he added.

Meanwhile, Lee provided an explanation for their hesitance to immediately film another installment for the highly successful movie. "It all comes down to the story," she elucidated. Taking the latest Frozen short film she and Buck worked on, Lee admitted that the project was "so daunting" until they finally "found the story." She also shared that the entire team had to take into consideration "every emotion and moment and feeling" while creating the short film.

"Until we find our way into what's next, emotionally, it will feel too big. We just finished the short two weeks ago. One year ago, it was a lot to even think about doing a short. We were quite tired. We don't really know what it's like to stop for a minute and think about what we want to do next," Lee disclosed.

As for Buck, he described the entire situation as a "bit of that drop-the-mic thing," revealing that he himself does not know "what else to do" following the success of Frozen in 2013.

"It was the scary thing of, 'How do you follow Frozen up?'" Lee further explained. "We were scared. I don't think we even began to understand what people liked about the movie," she admitted.

Although no confirmation for the sequel was given, Lee shared her anticipation for the Broadway adaptation of Frozen which she will be working on with Oscar-winning songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. "The shaping of Frozen lends itself beautifully to it," she shared. "Everyone's very excited for the potential for what we could do. I'm really excited about it," Lee said.
