A screenshot showing off the system information of the Galaxy Note 5 has revealed some of its key specs.
Some of the details listed in the image seem to confirm previous rumors surrounding Samsung's upcoming flagship phablet.
According to the leaked image, which was sent by an anonymous tipster to GSM Arena, the device is powered by Samsung's Exynos 7422 chipset. The tech news site noted that this is an upgraded version of the Exynos 7420 running on Samsung's current flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The image also revealed that the Galaxy Note 5 has 4GB of RAM and runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop as its stock OS.
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. But unlike the Galaxy Note 4's 515 ppi, the upcoming device has a screen density of 480.
In addition, the screenshot also showed that the device contains 32GB of internal storage. However, it is not yet clear if this will be expandable using a microSD card.
The image released by GSM Arena is the latest leak to show off the features of the Galaxy Note 5. Recently, a different set of photos showing off the exterior design of the device revealed that it might not have an auto-eject feature for its stylus pen, iDigital Times reported.
Based on the images, the handset has curved edges which will allow users to extract the S Pen using their fingernails. If this is true, then it means Samsung has opted not to include its patented auto-eject technology in its next flagship phablet.
Rumors about this feature surfaced a couple of months ago after the South Korean tech firm filed a patent for the concept. Based on leaked illustrations, the technology will make use of magnets to keep the S Pen in place inside the device.
Reversing the polarity of the magnets will then cause the stylus pen to shoot out from its compartment.
As for the Galaxy Note 5's launch, various sources speculated that Samsung will unveil its upcoming device next month, which means it will skip September's IFA event. Apparently, the company is hoping to launch it before Apple introduces the iPhone 6S to the public.
However, these are all still based on rumors and speculations since Samsung has not yet announced the exact details and the launch date for the Galaxy Note 5.
