"Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke has just been named by Esquire magazine as the sexiest woman alive, and this is due to the actress' ability to pull off a multitude of covetable characteristics all at the same time.
"She manages to bring together a number of opposites, to make them natural: sweetness and toughness, emotionalism with a kind of cold-blooded determination. Something in these contrasts explains her sex appeal, too. She can play queen and kid sister, dominatrix and pal," they wrote.
Her English upbringing also helps add allure to the mix too, and they call her a "pocket rocket" because she is small, sexy, lively, and lots of fun.
"But there's a whole set of virtues that goes with the fun. There's an attitude to life," they said.
Clarke's success can be attributed to her role as Daenerys Targaryen, also known as Khaleesi in "Game of Thrones."
Fans loved seeing her character flourish and become a worthy contender for the thrones, with tons of people rooting that she rule the Iron Throne, maybe with Tyrion Lannister by her side.
Looking back, Clarke admitted that she did not know anything about the works of George R.R. Martin when she auditioned for the series.
"My agent told the casting director, 'I know that the breakdown for this character is tall and willowy and blonde. I know she's short and round and brown, but I'd like you to see her,'" she shared.
"I had two scenes which told me nothing and not very much time in which to read all those George R. R. Martin books," added Clarke. "So I did what every good actor does and Wikipedia'd the living (expletive) out of it."
When asked if she had a better grasp of the character now, Clarke nodded in agreement. And she explained that they want "someone who could grow before your eyes in one season, who could gather strength and show vulnerability..."
While still doing "Game of Thrones," Clarke was actually offered a role in the teenage flick "50 Shades of Grey," but the actress turned it down.
"I really wanted to work with (director) Sam Taylor-Johnson because she's amazing," Clarke told Marie Claire UK. "But there is a huge amount of nudity in the film. I'll never say, 'I'm never doing nudity,' because I've already done it, but I thought I might get stuck in a pigeonhole that I would have struggled to get out of."
In the end, she accepted a role as Sarah Connor in "Terminator: Genisys" - something that Clarke feels much better about.
