During the "Game of Thrones' season five finale last June 14, fans helplessly watched in horror as one of the best warriors in Westeros took several stabs before finally falling to the ground, lifeless.
Jon Snow was having the most unfortunate day of his time with the Night's Watch after getting wounded by Olly, Ser Alliser and the rest of their own brothers as they deemed him a traitor for helping the wildlings.
Loyal fans and followers of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire' book series and the award-winning HBO show were not completely convinced that Snow has finally met his death owing to the fact that the novels are suggestive of other possibilities.
However, the stabbing of Snow did take place in the last chapter of the fifth book, "A Dance with Dragons.'
Moreover, "Game of Thrones' director David Nutter has confirmed that, as much as he and the rest of the HBO series team are concerned, Snow is finally dead.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nutter also praised Kit Harington, who plays the ill-fated Lord Commander, and described his last day on set.
"He is a consummate professional," the director told shared. "It wasn't unlike the Red Wedding where everyone gets attached to people when you work with them for such a long time. You really grow quite fond of each other. You're family."
Nutter also opened up about feeling sadness on set, which made him take all of the extras before filming the scene and let them read the Night's Watch creed altogether.
"I wanted the scene to happen rather quickly, where it didn't hang at all. That it would happen before you know it," he added.
Harington himself also shared about his sentiments on his character's fate, saying that his death could actually be a good thing.
"I'm quite dead. It's over for Jon Snow - at the very least, he gets to join his family and kin and leave this terrible world behind," the 28-year-old actor told New York Daily News.
While fans could still be reeling in shock from Snow's death, the season five finale also revealed Cersei Lannister's brutal walk of shame, which called for Lena Headey's double as well as three days for the scene's completion.
I can't even imagine people wanting your blood. Cersei has done wrong, but she doesn't really deserve this," Headey shared.
Although Cersei has been responsible for numerous evil schemes, her walk of shame finally made fans feel genuine sympathy for one of the story's most despised characters.
