A game development studio announced that it has acquired the rights to use Paris Hilton's name and likeness for a new video game, according to Daily Mail.
Animoca Brands, a company based in Hong Kong, said it plans to create a new mobile game centering on the famous television personality and socialite.
Robby Yung, the CEO of the studio, noted that the company decided to choose Hilton as the subject of its latest project due to her popularity and keen attention to the current trends.
"Paris Hilton is one of the world's most recognized names and we are thrilled to be able to collaborate with her," the executive said in a press release. "With Paris' eye for what's hot in the latest trends, and our experience at making popular mobile games, we are confident that consumers around the world will be receptive."
Animoca Brands did not mention the title for the latest Hilton game or its projected release date. However, the studio noted that the mobile game's development will be divided into several phases. This means the company plans to release and sell content-related items first before proceeding with the completed version of the game, Game Spot has learned.
If Animoca Brands' latest project pushes through, this will mark Hilton's latest entry to the mobile gaming sector. In 2006, the actress, singer and model partnered with Paris-based studio Gameloft for the development of "Diamond Quest."
During a press conference for the game, Hilton said that her decision to enter the mobile gaming market was driven by how cell phones have transformed into multi-entertainment devices, The Guardian reported.
Aside from Hilton, other celebrities who have ventured into the gaming industry include Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, and Lindsay Lohan. Rapper and producer Kanye West also recently announced that he is working on his own video game based on one of his songs.
