CeCe Winans received recognition with her album More Than This being nominated in the “Best Gospel Album” category, alongside Melvin Crispell III’s Covered Vol. 1, Ricky Dillard’s Choirmaster II (Live), Kirk Franklin’s Father’s Day, and Karen Clark Sheard’s Still Karen.

In the “Best Gospel Performance/Song” category, Yolanda Adams was nominated for “Church Doors,” her collaboration with songwriters Sir William James Baptist and Donald Lawrence. Melvin Crispell III for “Yesterday,” Ricky Dillard for “Hold On,” DOE’s “Holy Hands” (featuring Jonathan McReynolds and Juan Winans), and “One Hallelujah,” a collaboration between Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Erica Campbell, Israel Houghton, and others, also received nominations.

The “Best Roots Gospel Album” category, which celebrates traditional and roots-infused gospel music, included Authentic Unlimited with The Gospel Sessions, Vol 2, Mark D. Conklin’s reflective The Gospel According To Mark, and The Harlem Gospel Travelers with Rhapsody. Moreover, Cory Henry’s Church and The Nelons’ Loving You, which masterfully blend gospel with Southern, bluegrass, and Americana influences, were recognized.

These Grammy nominations follow the recent GMA Dove Awards, where both Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans were honored with three awards each, and “Holy Forever” was named Song of the Year.

Frank was awarded “New Artist of the Year,” and his song “Good Day” took home Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year. Frank’s debut full-length project, Child of God, has also secured the No. 1 position on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart for an 14 weeks. Additionally, Crispell III won the Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “God Is (Radio Edit).”

The upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 2, 2025, and will be broadcast live from Los Angeles, California, on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
