‘Grand Theft Auto 5’ Updates & Gameplay: Rockstar Introduces New Multiplayer Mode ‘Every Bullet Counts’ for GTA Online

GTA V

Rockstar Games has announced a new mode for the "Grand Theft Auto 5's" GTA Online.

However, like the recently released DLCs, the new mode is only available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers.

The new mode, dubbed as "Every Bullet Counts," pits players against each other in a free-for-all death match. In this mode, the objective of players is to finish the game as the last man standing. However, they are only allowed to use melee weapons and very limited ammo to take out the other players.

"With no safe place to hide, four players go up against each other in a confined space with a very limited arsenal, just one Marskman Pistol and two bullets to take out three opponents," Rockstar explained. "Once you've exhausted your ammo, you'll need to resort to crafty melee attacks with your hatchet or machete to make it out alive.

Of course, the obvious strategy for this mode would probably be to hide and wait until the other players kill each other or attack the last remaining enemy once he or she runs out of bullets. However, Rockstar has included a special system in "Every Bullet Counts" to prevent players from doing this.

"Campers and lurkers be warned: anyone staying still for more than 5 seconds will have their blip revealed on the map, making them an easier target for enemies who are wisely moving from cover to cover," the studio noted.

According to Gamespot, "Every Bullet Counts" can be accessed through the featured playlist of GTA Online. The mode went live this week and is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers.

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gamers, on the other hand, will not be able to enjoy the new mode in GTA V. As previously explained by Rockstar, the studio is now focused on delivering new content for the PC and next-gen versions of GTA V and GTA Online due to the technical limitations of last-gen consoles.

"Unfortunately, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 won't be receiving the addition of Freemode events to GTA Online, but it stems from a desire to push the mode in new and technically-demanding directions," Imran Sarwar, director of design for Rockstar North told IGN.

"It's got to the point where no more can be added to last-gen versions without breaking them," he added. The primary technical reason is the memory capacity for the older systems."
