After gracing the cover of Entertainment Weekly, Harrison Ford opened up to the outlet about his well-loved nerf herder character, Han Solo.
Although there have been limited details about his storyline in the highly anticipated "Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' Ford discussed how the fan-favorite character has evolved.
"There's not an abandoning of the character," the 73-year-old actor explained when asked if Han Solo has somehow lost his distinct swagger. "He does not aspire to the position of Obi-"Ben' Kenobi, nor do I aspire to be some New Age Alec Guinness. His development is consistent with the character, and there are emotional elements which have occasioned his growth."
Ford also shared that the Han Solo that viewers will get to see in "The Force Awakens' might not be very different from how fans knew him three decades ago.
"We spend a lot more time [in the movie] on his failure to master basic skills, like accounting, and accounting for his own behavior. There's a lot of the rogue still left in Solo. Some things don't change," he added.
The Chicago native touched on the subject of the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie, which is currently being penned by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan and will be helmed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord in time for an official release on May 25, 2018.
When asked if Lucasfilm had opened up to him about the movie, Ford divulged details that have been previously noted, saying that the spotlight would be on a young Han Solo this time.
Meanwhile, when it comes to his other iconic role, Ford was asked if he would prefer to return to being Henry Walton Jones, Jr., which he seemed excited about doing.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'd love to do another Indiana Jones. A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director "” what's not to like?" he responded.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is set for an official release on Dec. 18, 2016 while "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' is scheduled a year later on Dec. 16, 2016. In addition, "Star Wars: Episode VIII' will be released on May 26, 2017. It was also confirmed that "Jurassic World' director Colin Trevorrow will be directing the third Saga chapter.
