Taiwanese technology company HTC is rumored to be preparing to unveil the One M9 Plus and the One E9 at an event happening in April.
News about the product launch emerged after leaks of an event invitation sent by the company appeared online, NDTV reported.
Based on the image posted by Weibo, the invite shows the back panel of the supposed M9 Plus, which is the larger version of the HTC One M9. It also has the phrase "More than One" below the image of the smartphone. The event will be held in Beijing on April 8 of this year.
NDTV noted that the image of the One M9 Plus shown in the invite is similar to the one that was leaked previously.
As for its rumored features, the One M9 Plus will have a slightly larger display screen at 5.2 inches. It will also be equipped with the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795T SoC and a better 20.1-megapixel rear camera. The One M9 Plus will also have the same memory and storage as the One M9.
Aside from these, the One M9 Plus will also have what appears to be a Home button below the display panel. Although the actual function of the feature is not yet confirmed, it is rumored that it might be a fingerprint scanner similar to the one sported by most iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices.
As for the One E9, the smartphone will have a larger display than the One M9 Plus. The length of its screen is rumored to be at 5.5 inches. In addition, the device will have a 20-megapixel main camera and a smaller 4-megapixel UltraPixel below it.
The E9 will run on the Sense-d Android Lollipop and will be powered by the MediaTek MT6795 chip. HTC's upcoming smartphone is also rumored to have dual SIM capabilities, according to GSM Arena.
