As the closing chapter of "The Hunger Games' made its debut, the film's stars opened up about how they plan to maintain their friendship for the years to come. Josh Hutcherson recently told People Magazine that he intends to keep up with his costars, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, through multiple ways.
"We have a text chain, we talk, we fly around to see each other - we make it work in many ways," the 23-year-old actor shared.
With all the time they spent together filming and promoting the popular franchise for the past four years, the last day of production had certainly been a memorable occasion for the well-loved trio.
"The final moment, when we wrapped the movie, was pretty poignant. That was the moment when everything came to an end, so I really vividly remember that - it was me, Jen, Liam, the whole cast all together on set, and that's just a great time," Hutcherson said.
Director Francis Lawrence also opened up about their last day, describing the event to have "a lot of champagne and a lot of tears."
As for the Girl on Fire, Jennifer Lawrence agreed that filming the last movie of the franchise was highly emotional for all of them and that "The Hunger Games' films have brought on long-term changes to her life.
"The changes that happened in my life from doing these movies are so permanent that I don't think I'll ever really say goodbye, it'll always be a part of me," Lawrence added.
The award-winning actress went on to share her sentiments about the dystopian film series
"What I like about these movies is that they take the entire world, and they condense it into this one continent, and they take all of these issues and one girl, who took it in her hands," she explained.
As the concluding movie in the dystopian film franchise, "Mockingjay- Part 2' follows the story of Katniss, who leads a final stand against the Capitol and the tyrannical President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
The recently released film had been one of fall's most highly anticipated movies. Aside from the trio, other stars who have reprised their roles include Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Natalie Dormer and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, among others.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' soared to the top of the box office during its opening weekend with a total estimated gross of $101 million in the U.S. Although such figure has become the fifth highest opening of the year, this also makes the last "Hunger Games' movie the lowest opening weekend of the entire film franchise.
