Jennifer Lawrence has shared a first look at "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2' last Wednesday as the award-winning actress took to Facebook and shared an exclusive photo with the caption: "6.9.15 #MockingjayPart2 #Unite."
In the image, the 24-year-old star is transformed into her heroine character Katniss Everdeen, carrying a bow alongside several fellow District 13 members.
Liam Hemsworth, who plays Katniss' best friend and on-and-off love interest Gale Hawthorne, can be seen crouching down in the background with a pose that is also taken on by Sam Claflin, who plays Finnick Odair, and Evan Ross, who portrays Messalla.
Lionsgate recently unveiled a new "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2' poster, which clearly suggests that worse circumstances are in store for President Snow (Donald Sutherland) now that Katniss and the Rebels are prepping up to take on the Capitol.
In "Mockingjay: Part 1', the group was able to haul out their captives from the city, although they did not quite expect the state which the survivors were in.
Nonetheless, Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) and Annie Cresta (Stef Dawson) seemed to be in better conditions compared to the weak and unwell Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) who was brainwashed to turn against his former partner Katniss.
In their last stand against the Capitol, "Mockingjay: Part 2' shows Katniss leading their team of rebels to arrest Snow while avoiding unlucky events as the city transforms itself to an arena, similar to that of the Games, filled with violent creatures, soldiers and traps.
Director Francis Lawrence shared his insights on the upcoming "Mockingjay- Part 2' film; he believes that it is more action-packed and resembles a war movie compared to the first part.
When it comes to the connection between Katniss and Gale, Lawrence opened up about wanting to see them grow even closer. According to the actress, these two best friends possess a strong history together that was not genuinely explored in the movies.
Other cast members who will be reprising their roles include Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, Julianne Moore as President Coin, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Natalie Dormer as Cressida, Jeffrey Wright as Beetee and Willow Shields as Primrose Everdeen, to name a few.
Fans can also look forward to new cast members, such as "Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie as Commander Lyme and "True Blood' actress Michelle Forbes as Lt. Jackson.
