In spite several rumors about the iPad Pro swirling over the last couple of months, a new report is pointing to a much later release date.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the 12.9-inch displays of the iPad Pro will undergo mass production, but not until September.
In case the rumor is true, then it is possible that the actual iPad slate will be announced much later, around December or even next year.
As early as 2013, there were already rumors that the Cupertino giant is working on a huge slate to officially begin the huge tablet category. In fact, the rumors in December of that year were so believable that they could have pushed another major manufacturer to launch its own 12.2-inch tablet.
During the Consumer Electronics Show last year, Samsung announced its Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet. It is a huge and high-end slate that is powered by a Snapdragon chipset, and packs a (2,560 x 1600) resolution display.
Unfortunately, the device did not do well in the market, probably because there were no specific purposes why consumers would want such a huge Android tablet.
However, times have changed since then, and more people are looking for bigger screened devices where they can both work and play. Most consumers today like the idea of having a portable laptop in a tablet. They just need to attach a keyboard and they're good to go.
Apple fans and other electronic device enthusiasts are already expecting the iPad Pro to get released sometime during the Q2, but with the new report, the release date may be delayed and pushed back to 2015.
Last year, the iPad reportedly had its worst year, dropping in sales for both the iPad Air 2, and the iPad mini 3. In the report, the iPad Pro allegedly aims to bring back Apple's slates at the top of the tablet food chain.
