It looks like Jaden Smith is really keen on following his father Will Smith's footsteps. Since Will Smith will be playing Deadshot in DC's Suicide Squad, his son Jaden will be a superhero too, and it looks like he will be portraying Static Shock, according to Walking Dead actor Tyler James Williams.

During a recent interview with Flicks and the City, Williams talked about his own involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the lack of black superheroes, and when asked if he could play Static Shock, he answered: "I don't know...What you're talking about. But yeah no, it's great to see Static Shock is happening with Jaden."

Williams' statement is the first confirmation anyone has ever had about Jaden's involvement with Static Shock. Not much is known about the movie, except that it will be a digital series produced by The Boondocks and Django Unchained producer Hudlin.

Hudlin spoke to Comic Book Resources about Static Shock, saying that they are all pretty excited to make the movie, especially since it is "more timely" now than ever.

"In terms of social relevance and who he is and what he represents, it's perfect...It's a project that's very much on the fast track. I don't have a timetable for you, I don't have any real details about it, but it's moving very quickly, and literally everyone who's in the room loses their mind," he said.

Behind the mask of Static Shock is Virgil Hawkins, a self-professed teenage geek with a deep love for video games and possesses electricity-based powers. The producer also said that the character "represents light in every situation," and whenever people hear his name, they get a happy, positive feeling and not a negative one.

Hudlin also compared him to Spider-Man, saying that the two superheroes have been designed to possess certain qualities that are very similar. "He's aspirational. He's basically the skinny kid, the nerd, scientist, who got picked on and then got powers. And then still got picked on, but at least he had powers," he described.

Jaden is actually perfect to play the superhero because of his age and recent acting stints, such as "The Karate Kid" and "After Earth." The teenager first started acting with his dad in the heart-warming movie "The Pursuit of Happyness."

The Smith family seems to have a really good relationship with DC, since Jaden's own mother Jada Pinkett Smith has also played Fish Mooney in Fox's Gotham.
