Taylor Swift can now officially begin her godmother duties as actress Jaime King welcomed her second child with director husband Kyle Newman on Thursday, July 16, as announced this Monday on Instagram.
"We are SO happy to welcome to the world our new baby boy!" the 36-year-old star captioned a photo of her family in the hospital.
Newman added, "HE'S ARRIVED! So happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world. Born July 16th! Mom & Baby are well. Name coming soon."
King shared the big news of the couple expecting a sibling for 21-month-old son James Knight in February before showing off her growing baby bump at a post-Oscars event.
Aside from the pair, Swift was eagerly looking forward to the baby's arrival and was appointed as the godmother for James Knight's baby brother.
"And @taylorswift will forever be looking over our new baby @kylenewman - we all love you!" King shared on Instagram.
The mother-of-two opened up about her decision of choosing one of her best friends as her second baby's godmother, saying "It was really because of her morals and her values and the way that she treats people and how hard-working she is and her family and how close she is to them."
The actress explained that, in her family, choosing the right people to guide one's child is a very important decision. She described Taylor Swift as a thoughtful, kind and sincere individual who she believes will make an ideal godmother.
Despite it being her second pregnancy, King also described the experience as "just as sacred" and was not hesitant to show off her growing baby belly.
"To me, it wasn't racy or sexy. The reason why I posted that photo was as an advocate and as an activist for women's bodies," the "White Chicks' actress said about baring her bump.
Aside from making the necessary preparations to put together the perfect nursery for the new baby and his big brother, the couple has also been busy in coming up with an ideal name.
"I want my child to feel strong in life and in business and what they do, but it's still romantic at the same time "¦ It's not easy, but I like classic and eclectic mixed together so it's a bit of both of my worlds at the same time," King shared.
Despite choosing to stay at home during her pregnancy, the new brand ambassador for A Pea in the Pod actively spoke out against people who bully women on social media, especially those who are fond of body shaming.
King has taken a stand against people's wrong behavior as they interact with others online. In an interview with ELLE Magazine, the model sheds light on the value of empowering other women and being open to flaws and weaknesses.
